Sweet Memories Flower Garden

This is a photo showing our 'Sweet Memories' garden.  We started working on it about 14 years ago.  It was created to satisfy my love of landscaping and also, to introduce my children to the miracle of gardening and the value of hard work.

First, we had a 'name our garden' contest. Dot came up with the name of 'Sweet Memories' from a book she had recently read. The named seemed to fit everything our garden could represent!!!

Next, I developed a general lay-out of the garden and each child picked a sight for their own personal garden spot.

Working individually with each child, we developed a theme and design for what their garden would be. It was a delightful adventure to see where their imaginations took them!

In the coming weeks, we'll spend time discovering each flowerbed and child.
